We heard from two leaders who embrace innovation to ensure that their businesses continue to have the edge. Our guest speakers were Tim Hart, Owner, Hart’s Nottingham and Sangita Tryner, Director, Delilah Fine Foods Ltd.
Hart’s Nottingham has swept the board in terms of accolades. This year it was named city hotel of the year and won a prestigious César award from the Good Hotel Guide. It has twice been a winner of the Nottingham Restaurant Awards and named as one of the best hotels in Britain by The Sunday Times.Following a Cambridge philosophy degree Tim Hart became an investment banker before finding his true vocation as an hotelier, restaurateur and entrepreneur. His first venture, Hambleton Hall in Rutland, opened in 1979 and he was ‘quite content perfecting this rural idyll until nagged by Nottingham based clients to open Hart’s’, which he did 10 years ago.
Delilah is an independent fine food and wine merchant situated on Nottingham’s Middle Pavement, between Bridlesmith Gate and the Lace Market. Since its opening in 2005 it has quickly become a real Mecca for both long-standing and budding foodies. In its first year alone it won the ‘Best Café/Deli’ at the 2006 Nottingham Restaurant Awards and ‘Best New Café’ in the Midlands and Wales Region (Theme Awards).
Delilah deli is packed from floor to ceiling with exceptional foods and drinks and recreates a shopping experience from the days when food was real and fresh and produced locally. Delilah also offers a take-away, plus personal gifts and hampers and catering for home and business.
