Date:Thursday 17 January 2008
Venue:BioCity Nottingham, Pennyfoot Street, Nottingham

The 12th event in the series examined how cutting edge technology and pharmaceutical innovation tackled disease and ill health.  Our guest speakers were Alan Marsh, Founder and Director, Allmi-Care and Nick Ash, Managing Director, Medical Solutions plc.

Allmi-Care is a pharmaceutical development company specialising in the development and marketing of innovative hydrogel patches.  Compared with conventional creams, gels and adhesives, these patches are easier and more convenient to use.  The versatile hydrogel format delivers immediate benefits, as demonstrated by Quool, a natural menthol patch that helps tired and aching muscles and offers temporary relief of rheumatic and other arthritic problems.

Alan founded Allmi-Care in 1994, building up a range of topical products which are now sold to some of the major UK retail chains, and to a number of healthcare brand companies in the UK and mainland Europe.

Medical Solutions is a leading provider of expert, quality services and products to the healthcare, pharma biotech and life science research sectors with an unparalleled combination of expertise in diagnostic pathology, cytology and genomics.  Medical Solutions is placed in a unique position to fully exploit the increasing demand for outsourced support services and specialist diagnostic capabilities.

Nick joined Medical Solutions in 2005 and has reshaped the group by refocusing activities in the UK and acquiring the technologies and expertise necessary for the group’s current range of services.
