Julian Marsh, Partner, marsh:grochowski

Award winning architects marsh:grochowski have an impressive portfolio that includes the D H Lawrence Pavilion, Hart’s Hotel and the Nottingham Playhouse Skymirror Project. Their questioning and responsive approach to architecture finds them listening and designing closely with both their clients and those who are the eventual users of their buildings and places.

Nottingham architect Julian Marsh has a track record as a sustainability specialist in the field of green design. He recently transformed a derelict Victorian workshop into a contemporary and sustainable home for MP Alan Simpson and his family, and is now creating a future climate house within the Meadows.

Michael Farnworth, Managing Director, Stormsaver

Rainwater harvesting is a crucial part of the UK’s sustainability strategy and in five years Stormsaver has become a leader in the rainwater recovery industry with its system installed in over 300 sites across the UK. Stormsaver recycles rainwater from roofs into underground storage tanks where it is filtered and pumped to where needed, reducing mains water consumption, water bills and carbon footprint.

Michael designed his system whilst studying at The Nottingham Trent University and launched the business on the back of his initial success. Based in Newark, he leads ten staff and will have nearly doubled in size over the last 12 months. In 2007 the company won the Evening Post’s Nottinghamshire Business Innovation Award.
