Sharing an insight into their innovative virtual businesses were Nicola Davison, Managing Director of Click2touch and Tim Vryenoef, one of the founders of Nutracheck.
Click2touch has developed unique patent pending software that allows fabrics to be felt through the computer screen. At the click of a button virtual-reality animations accurately mimic fabric movement so that consumers can see a garment as a 3D object, enlarge its details or experience different tactile sensations. By using internet technology a user can see how a particular fabric reacts and performs when handled, whether it creases when scrunched or remains smooth when stretched.
Nicola's knowledge of the fashion industry in the UK and the US, coupled with her experience in the design department of a web company helped her to create an innovative business specifically designed for the fashion, clothing, home furnishing and textile market.
Nutracheck is a tool for checking the calories and fat content of more than 20,000 food and drink items by simply pressing a button on your mobile phone. The goal is to help people take more control of what they eat, believing that a good diet is all about balance and moderation. Independent of food manufacturers and retailers, Nutracheck’s aim is to provide an impartial source of nutritional information in an easy-to-use, consistent format.
Tim has considerable experience in food and healthcare marketing and product development, gained with major retailers Sainsbury’s and Boots The Chemists. He has been Product Manager for the weight management category at Boots, sourcing new products from the US for launch in the UK market place and later had responsibility for database management. Tim has an excellent understanding of customers in the health and beauty market.
