Chris Beattie, Director, Pedal Express
Pedal Express is a well-known eco-friendly Nottingham courier service that uses pedal bikes, electric and biofuel vans to offer a range of delivery options locally and nationally. They make one-off and multiple deliveries for some clients plus a full post room service for others whilst also offering a storage and retrieval service.
The business was founded in 1998 by a solicitor who ran it for just one year before Chris seized the opportunity to take it over. He found himself in the lucky position of turning his cycling hobby into a business and to build it up to where it is today. His business model has recently expanded to include new innovations such as selling mobile bike advertising, hiring and selling cycle trailers and offering cyclists a refreshing health drink by powering the bike's smoothie blender.
