OnCourse event with science and technology entrepreneurs
Two entrepreneurs who are spearheading successful science and technology businesses will tell their stories at the next OnCourse Innovation Leadership event to be held on March 18 at BioCity.
Through their visionary and innovative approach Keith Williams of GxPi and Stefan Ogrodzinski of BioStatus are creating dynamic commercial opportunities in science and technology whilst helping to stimulate the city’s local economy.
Guest speakers at the OnCourse event run by Nottingham Development Enterprise (NDE), the two leaders will talk about their personal journeys to success and the challenges facing businesses in this competitive market environment.
GxPi, run by chief executive Keith Williams, provides enterprise solutions for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device sectors. Founded in 1999, GxPi expanded into a product and solutions business in 2006 to address increased regulatory and legal pressures of the sector, and the business has grown to become a global leader in the area of compliant services and solutions.
“Given the current economic climate the Life Sciences sector is desperate to drive cost savings and value into all of its activities”, says Keith. “We are using technology and improved compliance delivery to help meet the needs of this sector as it transitions into a more efficient era.”
BioStatus, co-founded by Stefan Ogrodzinski in 2000, supplies customers worldwide with highly innovative reagents that offer significant advantages to both routine and research oriented cell-based analysis. Since forming BioStatus, Stefan has co-founded four further life science companies and holds non-executive directorships with a number of other organisations including MedilinkEM Ltd and BioCity Nottingham.
“One of the challenges I continually face concerns knowing when to pull back from initiatives that I have had a hand in forming”, says Stefan. “Knowing when to leave is probably just as important as knowing how to get something going. I am comforted by the revelation that I am running in a relay race, not a marathon.”
Greater Nottingham Partnership (GNP) is funding the OnCourse Innovation Leadership series, which attracts both aspiring and established entrepreneurs to its events, until 2011.
